Would I need a private header or something like this for games downloaded from the freeShop?
Or could I just download, never play the game online and be good?
Or you could download, play the game online and still be good.
Only "backups" run from flashcarts need private headers to go online. Not digital versions (pirated or bought).
edit lol, don't ask me how I answer posts that are two pages back.

I got a question, didn't want to spam with a new thread. I'm going to buy a 128GB microSD and already know about formatting to FAT32 to make it work with the 3DS. My question is, since FAT32 only allows files no bigger than 4GB per file, how the FreeShop download games bigger than that? Is it some kind of auto-trim?

Don't think it's a problem. The biggest game is like 3.5 GB afaik.

There aren't any games larger than 3.6 GB.

Hi Guys. I've downloaded encTitleKeyUpdater for freeShop and FreeShop app. However, any game is showing in FreeShop. I open the encTitleKeyUpdater and it brings me to FreeShop app but there aren't no games to download.

Is there something I missing? Thanks

Those programs have not been updated to download to the new directory that freeshop has the enctitlekeys now.

Hum. I got it. So probably I have to download encTitleKey.bin by myself, right? Is just that what I need?

Go to update settings in freeShop. It can download it for you. Put in a URL and then restart freeShop.

Thanks. I found this option. Where I find the URL that I have to put it?

EDIT: Nevermind. I already got it the url.

Where exactly this app download from? I'm getting only 70KB/s. I'm able to download at maximum speed around 200-300 KB/s with my connection.

The app comes from Nintendos servers, hence why you can play games from Japan and europe.

I found a game i used to play on there, don't know the english name though.
(It had a yellow ? icon and you can find the japanese version by searching @SIMPLE on freeShop)

I'm wondering if this method is safe. Can Nintendo not indentify users who are doing this?

And also, it seems DSi Ware is not 100% compatible with Free Shop. I mean, we still have to install the title into original nand, right?

That you do, but that's not an issue with freeShop.

I know that's not an issue. What I mean is we still need to download the CIA file somehow and put into SD card to install in nand. Free Shop doesn't do this by itself. Unless FreeShop keeps a CIA backup of the downloaded games, which I'm not sure.

It does not.

You could install freeShop on sysNand and install the game from there, use CIAngel, or get updated sysnand via A9LH.

Ah, does DSiWare not work on emunand? Haven't used that in a while.

Now that you mention it, some thing will break if you don't install freeShop to SD. Reboots (like when updating or refreshing cache) will fail and also I think the auto-updater may fail. I should figure out a way to auto-detect where freeShop is installed.

Hi, just gotten into this but I got this error for certain games like this.

I keep getting "Failed to install seed" errors.
You likely have a FW version < 9.6 and therefore cannot play newer games that utilize crypto seeds. You can fix this with a FW update.

I'm not too informered, where can I find a FW update?
I should have the latest
Download encTitleKeys.bin
But certain newer games I can't download them.
Can anyone provide some info please? I'd like to dl the newest kirby planet robo game.

Go into System Settings on your 3DS and look at the top screen. Can you tell me what the number says at the bottom right?
