It prevents system updates from being downloaded automatically, and by extension prevents update prompts.

That's really buggy. It causes a ton of problems on the home menu. Don't use it or else your home menu will be crazy.

Thank you so much! i tried it with your second method which is:

Try this :
- Take another sd card and do a format emunand on it
- Update the emunand
- Link your nnid
- Download the game
After that, try to redownload the game on your main sdcard, it should work.

Come to think of it, this is pretty much like StartPatch on Wii, or it will be once more patches are added anyway. It will be interesting to see what patches you or other people come up with. And maybe eventually it'll progress to something similar to Priiloader, where the patcher is injected (probably as a new process) when emuNAND starts. There's been so much 3DS stuff released recently that I can't even keep up, it's awesome

That fix would work...
...if the problem was that the NNID had been unlinked from the console.
It almost seems like he replied to the wrong post, in the wrong thread.

the regionfree is work fine on my old3ds 9.8 emunand and 9.2 sysnand,

the Eshop Spoofer on my 9.2 sysnand have problem,in the eshop i can not use search,when i search anything it is say error 007-2500,but i can download updatas through scan the right eshop QRcode go to the download pages,another way is through the 3ds homepage game icon,hit y go to the updata download page....the thing is wired!

my 9.2 sysnand do not have nind ID,and the 9.8 eumnand have nind ID,is this the reason?

actually i try again,on 9.2 sysnand i can not just in eshop,if i do this i will get the error code 007-2100 when the eshop say Landing completion. but eshop QRcode can use.

Finally, now nobody has an excuse not to get game updates off eshop now. Now we don't have to download update cia's and take out the annoying N3DS back case!!

Will this work forever past 9.8 in the future? Because this seems like it will be a permanent solution for a long time!

Your NNID setings are still there, it's just not accessible because you have the 4.x System settings installed so that 9.x MSET will work. There is a 9.x System Settings app that runs alongside the official system settings app, you can find it on that iso site. I don't know if it works on O3DS though

I just checked it; it is only for USA consoles so if you don't have a USA console, don't bother with it. It is in the CIA section, just search "System Settings SD Edition"

And it won't work on 4.x sysnand

This part in particular

• The testversions on the Pasta thread replaced Ygw Eshop Spoofer, this version wont do this.
• I have not much experience on reverse engineering(Mostly I only read sourcecode and stuff on 3dbrew and try n error things), so I cant promise anything.
• I will release the sourcecode later this week

Congratulations. Have you get the kernel access in ARM11?
If so i'd like to know if someone implement a customized SVC call in ARM9 providing prototypes..
Would you be able to call it? Or still it must be a service provided first? Thanks.
