I just have to warn people to pause this more than 10 minutes. I got a screen burn in when using this emulator. View attachment 23834 View attachment 23835
Uh, yikes!

P.s. press the home button and suddenly "sleep" starts working and you can safely close the lid.

Edit: should probably mention, that burn in will probably wear off

What version do you specifically refer?

The one that works in ninjhax 2.1.

Should I let some random 3ds retail game be on for a couple of hours. Will there be a chance that the burn in will dissappear?

I really love this emulator on my N3DSXL. But this burn in got me off...

Wow, what a collateral effect! Thanks for your warning! And I hope you get a solution soon!

Thanks for all support guys! After 30 minutes of white screen it's almost gone :)

It looks like it's gone now. But there is still a little left!

So if I press home button and then close the 3ds it goes into sleep mode?

So, the 3ds sleep mode doesn't work with the new builds on this emulator without pressing the home button first?

But, it will exit to the launcher or 3ds menu right?

Indeed, with any existent .3dsx homebrew, sleep mode is not functional directly, AFAIK! And, no, this emulator in particular doesn't have "exit to launcher" option.

It does now, that's the entire reason I made a new build

Nothing will(on Ironhax/ninjhax 2.0). Pressing the home button at any point during your session will make "sleep" mode work even between programs. But note, it's not actually sleep mode....the screen just turns off

Just putting this here because it doesn't seem clear in the other post
https://u.teknik.io/wMUEQ4.zip is a build of the current git, as a 3dsx, 3ds, elf, and cia. It supports exit to launcher and has performance improvements(I expect that they are fairly seriously improvements on O3DS). You should use this build.

OK! I'll test that! Thank you for the advice!

Yeah, there are more O3DS than N3DS but it doesn't matter to devs :c

So the latest build will be faster on o3ds? and how can i speed it up on o3ds? Is there a way to overclock or will you implement hardware rendering like blargsnes did? because im quite suprised that an snes emulator works a lot better than an nes emulator on 3ds. Well will there be frame skipping or something like that? SMB3 still lags and feels slow

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
