There are some bugs with ctrulib's mic implementation that need to be fixed first. Otherwise, I have VoiP code that's mostly functional, I just need to play with some encodings otherwise it will be laggy and probably mess up gameplay. But I will eventually try it out.@TheCruel what about voice chat XD
oh my god please, i beg of you to release a separate build with voice chat just to try it out, i really would LOVE to see this working on the 3ds.There are some bugs with ctrulib's mic implementation that need to be fixed first. You can try out the MIC rewrite that just got into great-refactor yesterday, if you want. Might work a bit better. There are some bugs with ctrulib's mic implementation that need to be fixed first. I'll probably release a guide on running your own server in a week or so, you'll just need a linux system with SFML installed. Then you can run a server using any word list in any language (well, latin-based lagnuages anyways, no extended unicode support yet). Though my keyboard is made using XML layout and I toyed with making a Japanese keyboard and it worked well, but I never finished it because I have no idea how a Japanese key layout should look.how about multi-language support?
Sounds interesting. My first priority is getting the server list looking nice (instead of just showing a bunch of IP addresses lol). I'll make it so server can have a name, and it will fetch how many users are on each server, and what language the server is, and such. Maybe then I'll consider the password. But for now I'm just adding a "report drawer" button that will get people kicked if enough people report them. Then kicks will be logged for admin and maybe in the future I'll add an IP ban list for admins to use. But I'm trying to figure out how the "report" button should work so that it isn't abused much, like in a 4-player game, two users can easily bully someone to get them kicked or something.@TheCruel Obviously setting up an alternative server would be roughly the equivalent (except :effort: on part of the host), but as the player base sometimes gets massive, is there any chance of having some sort of lobby/room system so multiple games can run concurrently? Possibly with password protection, too, since trolling also becomes a potential issue.
