Can't edit those posts anymore, sorry for tripple post:

All works fine, but i realized i have no sound (i know that music isn't implented yet, but the sfx doesn't work either), any idea why?
it needs dsp firmware dumping. There's one-time use dsp firmware dumper in 3dsx format, look it up.

Every time I exit the game, it crashes/freezes and ends up at a black screen. I end up having to reboot the 3ds, and then go back into the HBL.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any fixes that anyone knows about?

Feedback:

What is the last supported version of this? I installed GLhexen, applied patch 1.11 and installed Hexen 2 Mission Pack Portals of Praevus, then applied the inofficial patch 1.15. Runs fine on Windows.
Read here something about data1 folder being 96-98mb, well mine is 105MB :O

So, the game boots fine, saying in the console at menu that some commands are unknown and executing autoexec.cfg, when i choose a class and difficulty the intro text loads, after that the game hangs, saying bad type (number) all the time loop, have to shutdown via power.

So whats the last supported Version of GLHexen :)? Thanks.

Edit: Works with standard installation, HexenII ISO install, then Mission pack install, which applies 1.11, later the version says HexenII 1.12, same hashes than you mentioned.

Runs great on N3DS, though i haven't figured out how to shoot. Gyroscope controls and aiming feels a bit clunky, but some more testing is needed. Anyway awesome work.

And i saw, that you have to bind your controls entirely?

Has someone a good autoexec.cfg where all needed is configured and fine for a playthrough? Thanks, if not, i will do myself an own config with basic controls.
I have the same problem but i can't seem to get passed the difficulty screen, my checksums for both paks match and i can boot the game on my phone but i'm having no luck here (note: before the like 5 minute scrawl of bad types on the touch screen it says the progs.dat is out of date and is 7 when it should be 6, i've tried several different progs from various places but to no avail) any help would be greatly appreciated

I did a dsp dump for the 3dsx version but the cia version has no sound
I'm using cia but no sfx even after dsp dump,is there supposed to be a midi folder in data1?
As it turns out, sound isn't working at all in ctrHexenII on latest Luma's(both 3dsx and cia versions, I believe). So to play it you need to revert to earlier luma or use old build of ctrHexenII with csnd support(Maybe? Can you test it?)
Rinnegatamante left 3DS scene while ago, so I don't think it'll be fixed by author.

Good to know. Perhaps I've had no issues because I always use the .cia version under Gateway 11.2 emunand. I had also been keeping up with luma, but the post sighax changes seem to cause more issues than they're worth. I don't even have time to test anything now. Not until October.

Every time i try to boot up the .3dsx I get a "couldn't find grx.wad file" error.
It means you don't have the right files in the "data1" and "portals" folders, on the root of your sd. Need to copy "data1" and "portals" folders to the root of your sd from a copy of the PC game.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I'm not able to use either analog stick (N3DS) in 'customize controls' from the options menu. Does not recognize either when I am trying to map them. CIA version.

I have the game installed and it runs fine, but there isn't any sound. Both data1 and portals are on the root of the sd card, and ctrhexenii is within its dedicated folder on the 3ds folder

Hi all, new user here, on a New 3DS XL, latest luma, all other Homebrew working (prboom, ctrquake, quake2, working with sound etc), and I did all you said here ( data1 and portals are on the root of the sd card, etc). The game is working, runs fine, but has no sound (ctrHexenII v.1.12)

The user mironi curse said that 1.12 version has no sound and that probably a previous version has sound.

1) Where can I find that version?

2) The savegames are going to delete magically? Or could I play the game with the savegames if I don´t change between new mission and old missions?

Got all files from my steam account, normal campaign and Portal of Praveus DLC working etc.

Thank you in advance.

PS: Yes, with the virus we are all looking for emus and ports jajaja

Is there any dev around there who would be kind enough to fix the sound problem ? That could be great to have it working again :)
I'm trying to fix it, but i doubt i'll succeed, too little c knowledge and attention span. It builds but i'm stuck at drawing the actual screen, it reports like its 0px wide but it's clearly defined otherwise

For those who have a N3DS, enabling the use of the extra core in latest luma3DS brings back the sound :)
No go for the O3DS of course.

Are you being for real, cause that's hard to believe, DK is Nintendo and made in japan, Sea of thieves was from Microsoft, in America. I'm not calling you a liar, just didn't know.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
