I'm having a weird problem. The music in one of my themes, and only one of my themes won't play when it's in shuffle. It plays and loops fine when installed by itself.
It's a bcstm that I got directly from the game and converted to wav before reconverting it again with YATA+. Before I converted it, it didn't play at all.
Edit: I fixed the song by using a program that isn't YATA+ to convert the original BCSTM to a wav before converting it back with YATA+.

Can you explain better what softwares you used? MAybe this could solve all the issues related to non-looping BGMs.

I used Foobar with the VGMstream plugin to convert the original BCSTM to a wav. I then used YATA+ to remake the BCSTM with the original loop points.
The only issue I ran into was that no music played period when that theme popped up in shuffle. I think YATA+ just doesn't convert BCSTMs to WAV files properly, or it just didn't like the ones from Professor Layton.

I just checked why, when converting bcstm to wav the VGMstream version that yata uses makes the bgm loop before converting it to wav so it's always longer than the original, i'll fix this, i think that's just a parameter to change in the VGMstream command line

Okay, so I have a weird problem. When I try to change themes from one Custom to another, the theme does change but the BGM stays the same...and for every theme after. I really don't get why it keeps happening. Also, I have more than 30 themes...is that part of the problem? Please help!

Before entering Homebrew, go to the theme settings and choose not to use a theme. Do this twice and it should work.
EDIT: With CHMM1, you only had to do this once. I dunno why you usually have to do this twice with CHMM2...

You might only have to do it twice if you use theme shuffling. And on that note, you should set shuffle favorites to two basic themes before applying your own set.

I have to do it for normal themes (without shuffling).
If you're using themes without background music, that might be why. Always recommended to use a basic or no theme before putting your own. If this isn't the case, it's probably a bug.

Got it. Is there any way to keep the BGM thing from happening ever again?
That sounded really desperate, didn't it? :P

Hey, you're running arbitrary code that Nintendo never wanted to be executed. You can't expect the world to be deliver to you on a small platter. If you're going to be exploiting your system, you can't expect everything to work flawlessly, especially if it effects anything outside of HB.

Right...just seems weird that I didn't have this bug at one point, and now it just kinda showed up. Thanks for helping, though!

Still kind of curious, though...do you think having over 30 themes is causing a problem? Maybe confusing the program or overloading it or somethin'?

@Rinnegatamante Possible to add a way to dump our theme? Like the system theme or a theme bought.
thanks :)

You can use this: https://github.com/yellows8/3ds_homemenu_extdatatool/releases

This tool will dump your current theme as "BodyCache.bin" & "BgmCache.bin" which you can then rename to "body_LZ.bin" & "bgm.bcstm" respectively for use with CHMM2.

This can be pretty tedious if you have a lot of themes, as it would basically be a repeat process of dumping, moving & renaming the dump on the SD card, turning on the system again, dumping again, etc.

Edit: Just finished doing this with my themes so I can shuffle custom and official themes, and quickly learned that FTP-3DS makes this process a lot less painful haha

The new browser entrypoint fails if CHMM2 shuffle is on. The entry point is to scan the qr code here. I only tested new 3ds, old works differently so it might be ok.

Yep, CHMM2 shuffle prevents browserhax from working. A single theme from CHMM2 is fine, and Nintendo shuffle is fine (though I only have 1 full theme to put in it so perhaps more would cause problems?)

How do you add many themes at once? I mean the files on the sd can be only one, i have to replace because the file name are the same.
