Use the binary attached as your payload, it has a fix of sorts in order not to require firmkeys (rather, it'll work like regular Cakes on CakeHax/Brah). If you want to check out it's source, see my fork.

Otherwise, yes, you need to get firmkeys for every single FIRM you use. I plan to bring my changes to master in order to finally fix this.
Cool thanks.

Besides that, where would one get these 2 files? For safekeeping :p

I am in system version 10.7 in emunand. Can i update emunand to the latest version and continue to use cakes?

There's a pre-made version of the latest nightly on that iso site.
Although, I am honestly going to suggest people start checking out Corbenik at this point. Corbenik has all the same features of CakesFW and so much more, not to mention it's far more active.
Both the github and dev of CakesFW have gone quiet for well over a month now and with the nightlies being down for over two weeks, things are starting to look rather grim for CakesFW.

Fun fact: he showed up on Monday and replied to some stuff on GitHub (my PR and d0k3's issue).
He hasn't showed up on IRC yet, but hopefully he will.
There's a lot of stuff I'm starting to don't like about corbenik: the fact it now uses RGBA8 for some reason, the Unix directory structure (its a fw launcher not a fucking os).

Point is, for some reason I prefer Cakes above everything else. Maybe it's the firmware menu, which allows me to quickly switch between my regular system and 4.2/9.2 emunand, or maybe it's the fact that patches are so damn simple (they could be a bit better tho, the format has become slightly messy).

I hope he shows up on IRC too, Wolfvak. Anyways, nobody is forcing you to use my stuff. I actually love that there's so many choices on the 3ds, personally.

Cakes is indeed much saner in many ways and my CFW does lack some amount of automation that Cakes has right now. The patch format is simpler in Cakes - this is both good and bad. It's impossible to patch wrong, but at the same time it's less adaptable. Still, I wouldn't call it dead by any means like crystal thinks. *shrug*

I'm probably the last person who should be saying this, but...this is the Cakes topic.

I am not against anyone using CakesFW and honestly I am not calling it dead. But I am worried about the future of the project. Last time a project went quiet for a month, it was RXTools.
Still, if he's still active in some form, then there's hope that this project is still moving.

It's nothing personal against CakesFW, the dev, nor the users. I am just suggesting an alternative on the off chance this project does die. I am simply going off observation alone, not attacking nor promoting.

Actually, check your messages

I would just like to make thing clear, I am not here to bash, attack, or flame CakesFW, nor am I going to spam Corbenik. I simply suggested an alternative based on observations of the project.
As of right now, CakesFW is very usable and there's no reason to stop using it since nothing is broken, the OFW hasn't updated, ect. I am not calling the project dead and since there has been some life on the github, then there's proof that something is going on in background.
I just hope the nightly site comes back up sometime soon.

Well, I'm with @Wolfvak on this matter. For some reason I just cant get away from Cakes, it just makes everything so perfect for what I expect from a CFW.

All in all, its an insane amount of work to get some things as mid-kid wanted, so if he has being busy is pretty normal to be away some time. I hope he can come back to updating it.

Point is, it doesn't need updating. All current firmwares work fine, and all future ones would have to be decrypted and added, simple as that.

I'm sorry for making you people worry. I wasn't exactly busy, I just didn't feel like doing much at all for a while.
I'm happy to see there's still people that use CakesFW, despite me suddently going missing for a while, and not keeping up with a lot of promises I've made. It boosts my self-esteem, somehow.
I will be trying to get back into working on this, don't expect anything yet.
In any case, the nightlies are up again, if that even matters at this point.

IT'S THE RETURN OF MID-KID!
I was seriously worried about the future of this project and soooo fucking happy to see you've returned! I can't wait to see what you bring, just take your time. I am more happy to see you are still active and this project isn't dead!

I would assume by this message and that hand slapping the ground face thingy is a good thing. So I suppose i'll cheer and root as well. :toot:
