Update question:
I'm new to this
Last time I updated emunand with cakesfw by sysupdater to 10.3.0-28E with a package from that ISO site.
Is it safe to update by system settings>other settings>system update to 10.4 or should i do it again by sysupdater ?

It's safe (in fact that's how most people do it)

That should do it, yes. If you have any problems, feel free to ask.

It worked perfectly. Thanks!

Question: Does the modularity of your cfw only apply to firmware patches? If not, would it be possible to port a stripped down version of Decrypt9 or Emunand9 into a cake and run it from your menu launcher?

Only the patches are modular, though chainloading other arm9 payloads from any arm9 payload is possible, and not very difficult either. I'd rather have a menu for selecting the wanted payload, instead of getting a menu item in CakesFW to do that. The interest isn't really there though, due to it being easy enough to just use SPIDER/HBL/CTRBM/hell, I use MSET to launch a different payload.

Yea, I was thinking the same. I really hope you consider this option in the future. Being able to select and run payload.bin from a menu could push this CFW to the top, imo.

No, native PROPER region free will push it to the top....... of my list. haha

I wish i knew more about this stuff to try and help add it. :(

As cakes doesn't support region-free, are you guys patching your cia/3ds titles before copying them to the 3ds or is there some kind of cia I can run which will patch the files I already have on there?

I normally find that on the site(s) that shall not be named the CIAs that you can download are already patched (which is where I get all my CIA releases.) But on the other hand you can probably make them region free by nullifying the relevant section in the CIA's header.

And there's also the Pokemon legit CIAs as well, which are region free by default. ;)

Haven't tried it myself but you could also install Bootntr.cia and run it from cakes

The agb_firm is it the same for O3DS and N3DS?

[EDIT]
Seems not ;)

Anyway, looks like i have to check out how multi emunand works, since CakesCFW supports that :)
Did you find the correct agb firm and cetk files for n3ds? Is the github link just for o3ds?

@mid-kid I made the 10.4 O3DS FIRM work, emunand and the signature patch work fine, but the reboot patch fails (black screen). I've double-checked all the offsets 3 times (there's only one match for each one of them, so I'm pretty sure they're correct), but no-go. Here's all the offsets I found and used:

Code:
Emunand:

sdmmc: 0x080D8A50

0x0801A4C0
0x0801B564
0x08077B5C
0x08077B9C

Reboot:

firm_size: 0x000EA000
firm_addr: 0x24000000
fopen: 0x08059D10
fread: 0x0804CC54
pxi_wait_recv: 0x08054134

Many thanks for your contribution.
I've never tried porting the reboot patches myself (only b1l1s has done that), so I can't give you any tips about it (other than that you should try examining firmware_patched.bin to make sure everything was patched correctly), unfortunately.
I might look into it at a later date.
