To my understanding cakesfw is able to disable signature patch on sysnand mode and this can be achieve by unticking the 'enable emunand' in the option.

if that is so, would it be safe to install VC GBA and DSware in sysnand? and how can i install a CIA installer in sysnand?

have you tried reinand?

have you tried reinand?

yes i did. it brought me into emunand. I install couple of VC GBA, but non works.
I read that VC GBA need to be install in both sysnand and emunand.

my problem is i do not know how to install CIA files in sysnand safely. I do not have cubic ninja

I have sudokuhax on my o3ds xl but i dont know how to get sudokuhax onto my n3ds.

Never mind. I found my blue ds-card a moment ago :D

there's a tutorial on this site to get sudokuhax on your n3ds

Hello guys!

I've been back for a while, but I'm finally starting to work on Cakes again.
First thing I'm going to get done is N3DS support. Thanks to @Reisyukaku, CakeHax now has n3ds MSET support (He's gotten bug reports about 8.1, though.).

It probably won't take long, so stay tuned.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also, quick PSA:
A lot of files from the CDN have been removed, including, but not limited to, old MSET, SPIDER and NATIVE_FIRM (I managed to retrieve them all from different sources!) versions.
I'm running an effort to obtain a full copy of the CDN.
If you have any files that went missing, check out: http://txti.es/savecdn
Check it out anyway, since it explains a bit more in detail the different things you can do to help.
Thanks in advance.
I believe @pakrett has a large collection of files from NUS/CDN, it'd be a good place to start.
Or you could just edit and compile cakes and make it point to a custom named firmware.bin :P
Would you be willing to compile a build that points to something like CakesFW.bin? I know you're pretty familiar with the process.

I'd like to make a formal request to @mid-kid that this be done for future builds. There's not a lot of difference between the current lineup of CFWs, but as they each continue to grow that'll likely change, So I'd like to easily swap between them.

@Zidapi which cfw are you using as your daily driver? reinand or cake?
I'm using reiNAND for now, because my primary is a new3DS. I was using Gateway as my primary CFW setup, but I hate having to constantly switch between Classic and Gateway modes. All I need right now is an emuNAND setup that lets me play carts and launch unsigned .cia installed apps, reiNAND provides me with that.

Cakes/rxTools aren't quite ready to be used as a daily for those of us with a new3DS.

The first stable CFW that lets me use my Gateway card and my legit games interchangeably, will probably become my primary/daily.

But I think that, and a couple of other things on my wishlist are still 6-12 months away. The 3DS CFW scene is still very much in its infancy, there's going to be a lot of exciting developments in the next few months!

YES, it worked as you said.

Hey guys,
I set up cakes_85 on my o3DS 9.2 and it works pretty well with the spider entrypoint.
I tried to install the mset entrypoint through the code.bin. I have my settings downgraded to 4.x I believe. But when I installed the code.bin and try to launch the exploit it says an error occured and reboots. What am I doing wrong? Do I need the 6.x settings?
Thanks for your help!

Yes. You need to install 6.x MSET

Just a notice:

The only drawback is, since rxTools and CakeCFW don't use the same firmware.bin, i have to switch firmware.bin everytime i want to boot rxTools for options i sometimes use that are not in CakeCFW :/
But i guess every CFW has it's own reason for using a different method for firmware.bin.

We still use the same firmware.bin that rxTools 2.4 used.
They've changed it over time for some reason, completely invalidating the reason why I just kept it there.
I'll change it soon enough, don't worry.

rxtools is all over the bloody place atm lol

Atleast Reinand and Cakes are nice n clean and light and do what they're supposed to do and not try to do a bunch of other stuff.

But yeah i compiled my own cakes version to point to firmware_cakes.bin instead. :)

I'd do FBI injection. Look around the forum. I don't know how to do it with a Gateway.
And yes, you can run VC GBA and DSiWare in sysnand.

Yeah, I'll do that in future builds.

How so?

Rxtools has changed the location for firmware.bin in the upcoming version 3.0. It's now located in sd:/rxtools/system so that's nice ;-)

I like the idea to have all the files in one folder. No files added to root anymore.

actually... @mid-kid while you're around, have you tried booting Decrypt9 from mset on n3ds yet?

I tried getting to work a while ago from mset on o3ds with cakehax but i didn't get far :( No idea why it wouldn't work but I've thought about it a bit, thought I'd ask. Maybe there's a trick to it I'm missing? i dunno. Would be cool to have yet another entry point for it.

I still don't own a n3ds, so I haven't tested anything related to the n3ds myself.
That said, the old binary of Decrypt9 uses an old version of CakeHax (which doesn't support n3ds MSET). You should build the new version yourself: https://github.com/mid-kid/Decrypt9
