I'll never understand why people come onto these threads to post bad things towards the devs.
If you don't like the devs work then just don't use it.
It's because of devs such as arc13 that I'm loving my 3DS and I really hope that they don't become discouraged by bad posts.
I personally was laughing at how stupid his posts was, but yeah, other devs could be affected by this type of post so they should be banned asap.

Sorry for the delay... And double sorry for the even crappier video quality, but here's the current results:

It looks like the app crashed on me at the end there, haha. Unrelated though, I think my WiFi was acting up or something. Plus I am testing this out on my pretty busted OG3DS.

The top images that surround each title kinda got borked on my end, but that's because I did a quick batch invert thing in my image viewer instead of opening PS and editing them properly, so don't mind that stuff.

EDIT: Looks like I didn't thoroughly read the guide text either. Crash and borked images due to me messing with the .9.png images improperly.

Oh it's looking good :)
I can see that when you switch tabs, it goes to a white screen, that might be the fade which is not edited yet.
Same for the Loading screen as well.

One thing worth noting though, is the odd outline in the right and bottom of each screen.
@arc13 I recall a previous user also bringing that issue up.
Any ideas as to know if it is related to the background images themselves or is it a bug in the theme code?

For the white loading screen and the fading screen, then yes, I forgot about that, it will be fixed in 3.1.1

The white loading screen and the screen shown with each tab change, yeah.
But one other thing I was mentioning was at the very start of the video:

In there, look at the edge on the right and bottom of both screens.
If you can see, there are two lines which are different in colour compared to the background.
Are those normal, and if they're not is the issue related to the topBG/botBG images or is it a bug with the app?

I think that's a bug too, but you can easily fix it by extending the image.

Oh okay! Great!
Thanks for the insight.

@tiduscrying you could try with the following background images to see if the lines are no longer there now?
A simple screenshot would suffice for this test, to save you the trouble of the video uploading and everything :P

Haha, but videos were oh so much easier! I had to get BootNTR and screenshot-merge from the TitleDB to get some the screens, so sorry for the delay. Here's how it currently looks though:

Oh nice! Looks sexy with the BootNTR feature for screenshots :P
So the odd lines are no longer there now? Are we clear on that one?

Haha, yeah, the one thing I still have BootNTR installed for!

But yes, can definitely confirm that the odd lines are no longer present!

Great! Then perhaps we can go on to invert the rest of the images inside the folder.
I'm thinking perhaps fade.png, notification.9.png and installed_item_bg.9.png should cover other areas which are still white.

Im hoping this dark mode gets released soon!
Everytime I browse these forums, I always see something else I want.

Duly noted, I will be sure to exclude them when I am editing.

Just messing around here, I'll get back to the Inverted/Dark theme in a sec. But how's about something completely different and ugly?

It would be better if the text for the title of the game on both screens was white. The current text color blends in with the background in some places.

Looks nice so far :P
But the faint blue tone of the letters sometimes overlap with the background, maybe retouching the colour of that text would do it

Oh no worries, it was just something I was experimenting with. I have no plans to make it a real theme since it's kinda... er... silly looking, haha.

Okay, well I decided to diverge from an inverted theme and just work on a generally "darker" theme. I did this by just adjusting the hue/lighting/etc. of each image, so right now it looks a wee bit rough around the edges. Still looks promising though!

@arc13, I am having a lot of issues with the battery, time and wifi stuff. Even if I theme them properly or include the original files untouched, they often won't show at all. Just a heads up! Also, is it possible to make the settings text and keyboard text colorable? It still looks okay here, but it would look a bit nicer if I could make it look like the rest of the app!

Anyways, screenshots ahoy!
