My Galaxy Note 9 doesn't recognize my Switch. I'm using the USB-C to USB-A adapter which came with the phone and a USB-A to USB-C cable which supports data transmission (I use it with my PC and it works fine). In the notification menu, it says that my phone only charges the Switch, when I select "transfer files", it tries to but it fails, and then it goes back to "charge only" (same with all other modes)

does it work on other devices ? might just be a bad cable, or not fully working data transmission cable

Was refering to ravihpa post.
I'm using a S9+ and it works perfectly with the original samsung usb C to A and the adapter.
Not sure why it wouldn't work on your note 9...

Are you using android stock rom or a CFW ?

I don't have any other devices to check it with.

I went ahead and ordered the AmazonBasics one off Amazon.in (same MicroUSB to Type C) and I also ordered a Sony CP-CB100 cable (same MicroUSB to Type C). Will receive both of them in a few days and check it out. Will post here how it goes.

I just wanted to ask, which my friend pointed out, that do we absolutely need an OTG cable in the middle? Can't it directly be MicroUSB to Type C? Does anybody else have this setup?

I'm using Android Stock. I also tried with the Note 9 cable (which works for data, I tested it) and still nothing :/

Well, I have tried both, USB-C to USB-C and OTG Adapter to USB-C and both worked on my OnePlus 5 great. But, it depends on cable quality too. I have used cables and OTG adapter from Ugreen.

Okay, I can confirm that Sony CP-CB100 cable (MicroUSB to Type C) doesn't work. So far, only a USB-A to Type-C cable connected via OTG to my phone (Micro USB) works. These "direct" Micro USB to Type C cables don't work.

It seems kinda weird why a direct cable wouldn't work and the same setup with an OTG cable in the middle works just fine.

Maybe I will try with this setup when I'll have more time : Phone <-> USB-C to microUSB adapted <-> MicroUSB OTG adapter <-> USB-A to USB-C cable <-> Switch
It looks like my phone does recognize the USB-C to USB-A OTG adapter even when nothing is plugged in, so maybe there is something interfering with Rekado.

Did you try both putting the USB adaptor into the phone and into the switch (just reversing sides) ?

Reversing sides makes absolutely nothing sadly :/
Also, trying with a micro-USB OTG adapter and a USB-C to micro-USB adapter doesn't work
There was really no reason for it to work by reversing (technically) but we never know lol...

Note 9 comes with Android Pie ? What is your samsung firmware version ?
Might be some issues or additional restriction in the OTG driver ? My S9+ is still under Oreo 8.0 (not even 8.1), BRI3 samsung update.

I'm on Android 8.1 (Note 9 doesn't have 9.0), stock firmware (ARI4)

Okay, I just ordered the Poco F1 phone, so dealing with Micro USB is out of the picture. Fingers crossed my Poco F1 can send payloads without any issues, Type C (poco) to Type C (switch)
Edit: Confirmed - Rekado works great with Poco F1.

How did you install this? I have a poco too with miui10 and the apk installation fails with 'a parsing error occurred'.
I can install other apks without problems the same way.

EDIT: it was a permission issue of the package manager. After fixing it the installation was successfull. I used a thunderbolt3 cable and it works with the app :)

can you explain what you mean by package manager?

Could anyone help me out?
I'm trying to get it to work with my Sony Xperia Z3 but nothing happens when I try to connect my Switch in RCM Mode to my Smartphone.

I'm using an usb cable with an otg usbc adapter.

And yes, my Smartphone should be supported.

(I usually use this cable fpr data Transmission from pc to smartphone, tried a few others, too)
