There's no way to record a DSiXL in particular. The closest you can get is using a capture card on a 3DS system, but those are pretty rare nowadays. If you just want to record normal DS stuff, you can buy a capture card for a Phat DS for a reasonable price, but other than that you're pretty limited.

Why is that?

Because nobody's made a capture card for the DSiXL lol. Not to say that it's impossible, but I only know of Katsukity (now out of business) and Loopy who make these things, and Loopy only does Phat DS and O3DS.
