I'm going to look into doing the wii OMGWTF trim once it comes in the mail. I'm not too new to soldering, but I want some recommendations from some more experienced people on here. I have done 3DS nand mods (temporary) to restore a few bricked consoles, but I'm probably going to buy a new soldering iron (prefferably cheap). I do have a large spool of 30 gaige speaker wire that I use for most of my stuff (and generally works well.

I suggest getting an iron that can display heat. 320°C is recommended for small components and 350°C for larger things.

Also, have flux and a solder wick at hand. Doing precise soldering without either is strongly not recommended.
