Hardware Recommendations for 2DS Protective Case?

So context: My parents are getting my son a 2DS (flat) for Xmas. I want to go ahead and have a protective case, screen protectors, and likely a carrying case. My son loves Red. But I don't want it to be something he can to easily slip off because he's still quite young and likely to drop it or leave it lying around. This makes me hesitant to get those cheap silicone covers you can find for $5 or less on eBay.

So, while the latter 2 can be just about anything, I'm really looking for a recommendation on a solid protective cover for the system.

Does by flat you mean old 2ds?
If yes, then you'll have a very hard time finding a proper one..
There's 2 types of hard transparent case, first that cover the whole 2ds and the other only cover the back side.
I personally use the first one, but unfortunately the joint that connect front and back case is quite fragile..
I've broke 2 of them so far (I handle it with utmost care i would say), cant imagine how it would be for your son..
While the latter won't give you full protection (no front protection).

Thus, I think it is better to go for cheap silicon one.
But again, the choice is yours..
