Hacking [Realease] ReiNand Cfw

For all the people having issues, ive been working on my new, rewritten cfw (N3DS only for now) so hopefully that solves everything since it'll be minimalistic .. ill push it to git as soon as its done.. Also thanks to those donating to my cause.. ya'll are amazing.. All three of you x3
Anyways, as soon as im done, i'll push it to git and make a new, official, thread. Then I'll try to focus on BCH for a bit.

How to update EmuNAND on New 3DS XL from 9.0 to 9.5? Please go slow since I am noob.
 
i am running into an issue. Finally got reiNand running, but I can not install anything.
I booted into CN exploit --> Rei --> CN exploit again --> ran FBI and tried to install BBM
I have even tried to run Pasta, then run FBI once back in HBL.
It either throws "Can not start AM service" (with rei) or gives me "description database does not exist" (with Pasta w/firmload off)
Was just running Pasta alone before and was able to install several CIAs


Would this have anything to do with the previous install files being on the sd card?
Restored my sd card from my PC after formatting emuNAND to setup for rei.
Formatted sysNAND with sd removed, restored sd files, put card back in and when through the 3DS start up process. Old files messing it up?

Have you tried the FAQ on the FBI post?

Q: I'm getting a "Database does not exist" / "Invalid database" error!
A: You likely haven't installed anything from eShop or other locations before. You will need to go to the "Nintendo 3DS/<id0>/<id1>/dbs/" directory on your SD card and create empty "title.db" and "import.db" files. Then, go to System Settings -> Data Management -> Nintendo 3DS -> Software on your 3DS and let it repair the database files.
 
I have done this already. Unless you are supposed to do this after booting into the reiNand? It that what the issue is?
 
So I finally installed this and I noticed my CIAs are appearing in my normal NAND and in EmuNAND I'm having to unwrap them every single time and they rearrange themselves, what do I do?

Just finished fiddling with this and have a cia downloading onto emunand. What I ended up having to do was make the database, then copy that off, recreate emunand, paste back in the database, run pasta, run fbi to install fbi inside of pasta, then went into reinand and used fbi and it seems to have stuck. Hope that helps.
 
I had a weird occurrence also. I was driving when I finally got it working. Go figure.

So I thought that I needed to copy all the files from the folder that was on the sd before when I was running Pasta to the new folder created when I formatted sysNAND. Thinking that I had mixed up the 2 folders.
Anyways, it seems that I had 2 folders inside the original folder that was pre-existing with the original setup.
Like this: Nintendo 3DS --> "folder name" ---> "folder 1", "folder 2"
Apparently this 2nd folder (the very 1st folder the sysNAND created when I setup the console) had just enough files in the "extdata" folder to make the CFW go nuts. I completely erased that folder and everything went back to working.
I DID NOT have to go into settings to let the sys repair the database files

Needless to say, make sure to make a backup of your sdcard before you delete a folder in case you get the wrong one.

HI Rei!

Will have your New CFW any way to use the MSET downgraded to load it (As Gateway uses)?? It would be great :D

In that way we only need cubic ninja the first time

Will the next version have 4.5 MSET support again?

What are the major features/changes with the new release?

I wasn't able to play DS games (they weren't even being detected as being inserted) with the last release, so I had to rollback to an older version. But the build I'm using now doesn't detect out of region carts.

Should this update remedy those issues?

ReiNand CFW can play DS games?

Essentially its written from scratch so its not a mockup on cakes. Also i had some weird issue where devmenu would crash.. now thats magically fixed.

Would also like to add/confirm that I am now able to play DS games with the latest build. Huzzah!
