I can't get ds2win to work to save my own life.
How the hell do i get this cheeky bastard to work??

-Opened port 8888 (created a damn rule for it)
-Exe is running
-No damn clue what to enter for ip stuff (headers for each option are too generic, don't know what to put there, might be the problem.)
-Ubee router, Direct Ethernet connection on 2.
Wtf???

Nevermind it all, got mad as hell, started sobbing. i killed the project, hope lost. still don't know how the hell to see the ip adresses i was supposed to use, suggestions would be very nice on much better dsi remote desktop programs.

I see that the OP has given up on this, but I wanted to try the tool, and I thought I'd answer anyways, for anyone else wondering.

Using the version from 0.82 final, I opened UDP port 8888 (in and out).

My IP was in ipconfig in cmd, under "IPv4 Address"
Two of which appeared, I'm not sure how it'd work for Ethernet but it wouldn't hurt to try both. Also, make sure SSID isolation is off.

I used the tool, and no offense to the devs, but I found it to be borderline unusable :(

There's a ton of lag (for me, at least) unless you want a really bad image. The tool messed up and the desktop no longer worked after a couple minutes of use, multiple times. The controls weren't really registering either.

If you're only looking to use the DS as a gamepad (no desktop), DS2Key seems to work much better.

Edit: I tried DS2PC, the Windows side had an error upon opening (likely because I'm using Windows 10)
