H, I’ve just purchased a rcm loader but would like to also use my switch online with official game cards.

I’ve read the guide from NH switch github on how to make the emunand and understand the process but what I’d like to know is can this be done with the rcm loader or do I follow the guide using my MacBook and sd card 1st, complete that process then from then on ise the rcm loader to boot into cfw?

A far as I understand, the RCM loader is just a way of pushing a payload to your switch, as a portable alternative to a PC or mobile device. Therefore, the means by which you enter a CFW is irrelevant and either Mac/Pc, RCM loader or mobile will get you into CFW when required by the guide and anytime after this.

Some users have reported issues with various cables, OTG adapaters for mobile devices and USB ports with being able to successful push the payload to their switches (I had this issue with my Android mobile with Rekado, but it work fine with PC and TegraRCMGUI) so what I would suggest is check all your options to boot into CFW (mobile, vs. PC, vs. RCM loader) find which works consistantly and you prefer and stick with that for the guides and beyond. I assume the RCM loader will be the most robust and reliable, but have no experience with how to load payloads onto it nor its use and troubleshooting.

Best of luck

The RCM loader is essentially a USB flash drive that contains all the payloads for the currently available CFWs (Atmosphere/SXOS/ReiNX), as well as some space for custom payloads (yours may not support this however). It isn't smart enough to perform advanced features such as EmuNAND creation or Homebrew App installs.

As such, unless the CFW is installed properly (e.g. a correct SD Card Setup) it wont boot properly. If you need an EmuNAND (I would recommend this if you want to play official game carts online) - I would suggest creating it using your bootloader (e.g. Hekate) or built in EmuMMC feature (SXOS).

Thanks both, I assumed that the loader wouldn’t do the required steps to create a clean and dirty setup. I’ll follow the guide to do this then once sorted use the loader.

Ok so I’ve now got another issue. I’ve booted into atmosphere but I’m unable to install a backup. I’ve used tried both Mx dumptool with nsp option and Goldleaf to install And gamecard installer. When I try to launch the game I get corrupted data.

what have I done wrong?
