rare mario kart 7 error

hello! i don't think anyone else has gotten this error before, for context this is on real hardware and not emulation, a japanese 3ds XL with a north american mario kart 7 cartridge, specifically generic error 37(dlp). i am gonna test this with the digital version too to see if this error persists but out of all of my multiplayer games(well, at least games that have some sort of local wireless play)have not given me an error like this before. for all i know this error with MK7 could be a result of it being an old cart as i've had it since i was a kid and its been well loved. though well loved doesn't always mean it will stand the test of time, that said. i have tried removing and re-inserting the cart, same error and so on. i even checked if this was an issue discussed but found nothing. if anyone happens to have a sort of explaination as to why or how this issue happens, please let me know!

EDIT: so i managed to get my grimmy mitts on a digital copy of mk7 and no error there, weird. i had a feeling it could've been an issue with my cartridge but even then that still doesn't fully explain the error.
