A CERTAIN SCIENTIFIC FAILGUNSo I've been watching Railgun.

It's pretty shitty.

I mean, it has legit good fight scenes.

And for like, an entire half episode, there was a plot.

Then they killed a super brain fetus that was going to rape the nuclear power plant.

And then everyone was in a swimsuit.

Moe blob super kawaii lesbian bullshit.

Onwards to episode 14!

But more importantly...

I just spent a huge load of money on shit I don't really need.

About thirty dollars left for the month.

I have everything I need.

Now I'm just sad I won't be buying Monster Hunter Tri

"I just spent a huge load of money on shit I don't really need."

What? you bought an anime sight unseen without having watched the subs first?

I wasn't aware anyone that liked anime was that silly.

I've watched this series in sub myself, and personally I'd buy it if I had cash to spare. I consider the opening and closing tunes of the first portion of the series to be outstanding.

Lesbian comment, insert considerable laughing here

Oh get over it, just about every anime has a lesbian girl in it just like they all have a girl with glasses and a girl with large hooters (who is often the girl with glasses). They often have an all muscle and no brains guy and a guy that either likes dressing like a girl, or just plain likes guys. I think most of anime just plain likes poking fun at the stupid stuck up Americans (no not all Americans, just the religious crowd). They know homosexuality is not REALLY tolerated, it's just unPC to say anything nasty in mainstream media (because then Ellen gangs up on them).

I might suggest you start getting your anime as proper subbed downloads first. I'd tell you the name of the proper site, but I'm just not interested in getting admonished for a link today.

If you think every anime is full of the same generic characters, you're clearly not watching enough anime.

Case and point: Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni.
Indeed, moeblobs. But:
No lesbians.
No nerdy tits.
No all-muscle-no-brains.
No transvestites.
No homosexuals.

No I don't think ALL anime is categorically identical.

But some stuff does tend to seem almost inescapable.

Watching a show like Clannad and never once seeing a pantie shot was refreshing.

Watching a show like Kimi Kiss Pure Rouge was nice for it proved that Clannad wasn't a fluke.

I liked K-On because its was really JUST about 4 girls (becomes 5) in a band, and not a lame excuse to show off girls undies.

Fanservice is funny, but it's nice to get an anime occasionally that doesn't need it too

I don't mind moe though.

Any anime based on a datesim is complete trash.

You're missing more than half of the storyline.

They had the obligatory swimsuit episode though. Not that I'm saying that I didn't think Higurashi was bad. I actually loved it.

Agreed. I don't see anything especially great about K-On!, but it was definitely not as bad as some other service anime. Clannad didn't even have a swimsuit episode! I'm not gonna say that moe is the number one thing I look for, just something that can entertain me and that I can actually stand watching. Good stories and soundtrack are welcome as well.

If that weren't obvious enough. Now if I could understand Japanese, that would be nice, and if the TL project would get out of editing soon, that would also be nice.

Any anime that ditches the portions that were in the date sim, is likely only ditching the portions no one with real women in their lives requires

I wasn't suffering any loss

Ever watched Sister Princess, that anime got good reviews and most people don't realize it's based off a series of dating sims. The anime is superior to the games as well. Oh yeah there's very little fanservice in the form of Shirayuki's hip movements when she's washing dishes or cooking.

I wasn't talking about the porn, I meant the other possibilities. In the animes, they always end up with the same girl, but in the actual games, you can pursue one of many girls.

Ahh, ok. Yeah but that is part of the charm of some shows, hoping that the guy gets a specific girl. I'm not always rooting for all of them.
Best part of Clannad is Afterstory. Not sure if that was in the game.
