Homebrew RACEds file extension question

I wanted to play a couple neo geo color games on my ds. So I download racedsfixed and put it on my ds along with some games. The problem I seem to be having is that the emulator doesn't recognize my games. So I was wondering if they need a certain file extension?
Right now they have the file extension .ngc. So whats wrong with it?
Oh and I have an r4i sdhc card if you need that information. Thanks!

For starters try getting PC emulator of Neo Geo Color to check out if the game itself is ok, You will be able to tell if that's emulator fault somehow or the game itself
