Hey guys,

I just bought and received my R4S dongle.

I've done some research and found out that the R4S Dongle needs some UF2 files to boot the CFW of my choice. That's OK, R4 got some support for it on their website for some CFWs like Atmosphere, ReiNX, SXOS and some customized CFW. It is also updated quite frequently.

Now I started asking myself... maybe I want to boot Hekate (4.2) with my R4 Dongle, but I'm not sure on what UF2 file to use here. I plan to boot hekate, use it's built-in tools (NAND Backup and etc.) than boot into Atmosphere.

Could some of you guys enlight me with what UF2 should I use for this? Thanks in advance.

I found a python script to convert .bin to .uf2 but it reported errors. haven’t had the passion to fix it, since everything works so far with the uf2s provided by the injector maker.

Thanks ciao, would you know which UF2 should I choose to boot Hekate?

You can use the Atmosphere one from their website. But it's Hakate 4.1, not the lastest 4.2
Actually, it’s not really an issue, as if you put Hekate 4.2 in the sd, renamed update.bin, Hekate 4.1 will launch 4.2...

Thanks for the link @Maupiti but I'm not sure on what steps to follow on the thread you linked me also I have no idea what chip R4S is built on. Care to share the info?

Also should I put the renamed Hekate payload into the root of the SD card?

Thanks!

I don’t know either, but as the OP said, you can PM @mattytrog or post in the thread for the compatibility of these UF2 files with R4S.

If you use the UF2 third party provided by R4 on their website , you can load any payload or as I mentioned earlier, using Hekate 4.2 renamed updated.bin to put in /bootloader/ to load the latest release.
