Hacking R4i wood 1.17

I'm a total newbie when it comes to installing firmware on flashcarts.

I downloaded the files from

I have a r4i gold, which should work shouldn't it.

I formatted my sd card using the panasonic formatter then I put the files which I downloaded onto the card and it does not work. Did I do something wrong, if so, could you please point me in the right direction.

Which R4i Gold do you have? The one from www.r4ids.cn v1.14 or do you have the v 2.0?

Well on the box it says www.r4ids.com, doesn't say anything about v2.0.
