Hacking R4i SDHC Dual Core Update?

How do you know that?

I work for a reseller web site that is an official reseller in US for this cards :/
The new card stopped production to "stop a lot of clones" that were going around. I like to think otherwise that it was because it couldn't support newer versions and they made some optimizations to the 2013 card. I have opened both cards and they look different too.

The update should come this weekend.

Well I have visited a factory in china, the one that make these cards and others. I was not allow to take photos while there so have no evidence of being in the factory.

The guy who showed me round was the guy who deals with resellers he goes by the name of Ming.

They mass clone about 30 different cards.

Its in an industrial park called Sega park lol

Yeah they sell all types of cards not just their own brand but buying from the official manufacturer it's always the best way to go and of course better pricing too. (Depending...)

So they probably won't release an update for the R4 Dual Core 2013 when 6.1.0 or 7.0.0 comes out for the 3DS?

I have had no recent news from these guys but have just send an email.

They will be working on cloning the Gateway card that much I have been told.

I tell you what.. I have plently of new dual core and rts lite along with the 2013 version the only problem and whats stopping me from testing this method is that the site linked is in another language.. so anyone want to walk me through and ill post a video if it does work?

I have 40 'New' cards and already tried it.

Current Version is now V5.07​

I tried the 2013r4isdhc-whiteEng Kernel but all I got was a white screen.​

I will try other firmwares now.​

So this card 'the New Dual core' doesn't look like it can run as a 2013 card, but it may be as simple as renaming a few things so ill try..

Wait for official update at weekend because the fix does change it to version 5.07

FYI, the download site is in chinese, just click the icon with the arrow pointing down, download, put the file in your sd card, then run the .nds file on an available DS or DS Lite. Follow the instructions then you're all set.

If your 3DS doesn't want to boot the card, try replacing the "_ds_menu.dat" in the root of your SD card with this one:

Mine worked without replacing the kernel files, and this was a BRICKED card. It finally worked after the firmware update

I tried it and with the normal kernel it just stays at a white loading screen. And the kernel you provided is not for the 2013 r4 dual core thats for the silver rts lite card... :S

Can you tell me what version number your nintendo firmware is please, does it end at 11U or 12E.
I beginning to believe that that could be the problem the european version seems to be a litte bit higher, maybe that explains why it works by some and by others it doesn't.
Are there any europeans who got this working?

That's not entirely true, i happen to own a (late, end 2012) NEW version and a 2013 version and the insides are 100% identical.

Too bad they shut down the english forum, i followed it for some time and i think it wasn't really flaming what was going on but a lot of people where p****d off because the new card was not getting updated any longer and r4i was not giving any info on the subject, maybe they should have just told us but they chose to keep quiet...

As you can see 100% identical, up to the chip markings.

btw your picture on the right is identical to a r4i rts lite 2013 i also own...

well dual core and rts lite are both manufactured by r4isdhc.com i could open up a new and 2013 rts lite to see if they look like the dual core

where did you bought your 2013 r4 dual core? it could be that they placed that sticker but is not really a 2013 card :s
