Hacking r4i pocket help

Hey my friend gave me a r4i pcoket and a r4i console. The console is 1.4U

I went to r4ipocket.com and downlaoded the latest firmware and put the files in the root directory of my MicroSD card

When powered on, the console does not recognize the game cart and when i hover over the game channel i get the message
"There is nothing inserted in the Game Card slot."

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Get a better cart for one thing.

Any idea if this cart is a pre-1.4 cart? It may need to be flashed to support 1.4.

No idea, I don't concern myself with lowly R4s. It was just a suggestion. It may not even support the feature.

From my experience NO R4 can flash itself, however they make new cards which work to make you buy them and so they get more money.

Simply get a new Card.

The R4i Pocket is a DSTTi clone.

You can test this by downloading the kernel from r4ipocket.com and renaming R4i.PK to TTMenu.DAT. You can then run the R4i Pocket kernel on any DSTT/DSTTi.

Conversely, you can run any DSTT/YSMenu kernel on the R4i by renaming TTMenu.DAT to R4i.PK.

Anyway, when you turn on the DS, the R4i Pocket should show up like "Star Wars: Lethal Alliance" is inserted in the card slot. If not, either the card is a dud, or it's not updated for some reason (I think all R4i Pocket come updated thought, since they were cloned after the update).

You can try using the DSTTi firmware update tool, but I have a feeling it will say something like "incompatible device". You need a DS Lite or pre-1.4U DSi to try this.

The only thing I can suggest is to clean the contacts on the card. If that doesn't work, I don't think you really have any other options.

i have tried and found a way to fix an r4 i pocket.

first you have to take it apart

second you gently put you fingernail under the wired green chip

then push on the black oval thing

then put the case back on

finally put the chip in


Srry if it dosent work it only works when your r4i pocket isnt coming up on the screen
