Draw back, anyone could yank it out so understandable why some products have wires soldered in regardless of voltage limitations.

Of course Type C being universal even on TVs. Cheaper OLED TVs, micro sd card slots as standard universal law. Open source everything. Wireless charging bricks included in packaging because ports are so fragile a fail safe without spending more would be a nice option. Swappable LCDs without having to have any tech experience a user should be able to just magnetically swap LCDs if they break instead of having to take it to a shop making ribbon cables obsolete. Same goes for any electrical component really.

Wishful thinking thread of course but have fun.
 
Appliances that are built solidly just like they were back when our parents were around, why should we settle for a toaster or a microwave that only lasts a few years? Our parents had appliances that could outlive its owner and never broke down.

Electronics wise, USB-C everything. Its crazy how convenient it is to power a retro game console through USB-C PD and all you need is a small GaN power brick that's ten times smaller than the original power brick.

Because now days the market is so rich in value and production rate it's cheaper just to say buy a new 65" TV for $300 than it is to take it to a repair shop and get fixed that may charge $200 for a repair bill. We have a strong DIY market these days but the average person just isn't going to want to fiddle with all that they'd rather buy new because they can.
 
NO damn updates! Updates are the ruin of this tech boom and 99% of the time fix nothing, add nothing but bloat or push some hidden nonsense as well as tracking. USB C should've come instead of mini-B and everything should've lost proprietary connections around then. Other appliances most all had standard power cables give or take.
 
Everything being required to be bundled with a copy of the circuit diagram / schematic, a copy of the firmwares of any embedded microcontrollers / computers, and a copy of all the source code of that firmware.
