I have a friend who bricked his R4i Gold when he inserted it into his 3DS. I think the 3DS blocked his cart. I'm not sure what the exact problem is though. Is there anyway to get it to work again?

I"m not sure what the website is or the details about what happened , but is it possible to unbrick a flash cart? If so, how would someone do it? I've heard about the 3DS blocking most flashcarts from some update. Is there a way to fix them again, or would you have to purchase another one?
