Hi, my friend recently bought an r4i for his dsi and has asked me to replace all the firmware and games so they will work. Firstly, is the R4i firmware the best one to use as i have wood r4 on my r4 but it doesn't work on the r4i. In the meantime I've worked out how to use r4i firmware after installing it and have it working perfectly apart from the games. When i click on the game button from the main menu i seem to be stuck on the root of the card and can't see any folders etc. consequently i can't access the the games folder which i put all his games in.

So i guess my questions are:
1. Is r4i firmware the best one to use?
2. Why can't i navigate my way through folders like with wood r4?
3. Do the games have to be in the root of the card?

Any help would be great thanks,

Wizzerzak.

BTW why does the r4i menu have to be so complicated to navigate? i mean the B button doesn't even send you back!

of course wood doesn't work on r4i.
your stuck with i think YSMenu or the official firmware.

looking at ysmenu a bit more closely it looks like that it's no better the the offical r4i firmware, but that still hasn't solved

2. Why can't i navigate my way through folders?
3. Do the games have to be in the root of the card?

I used to have an R4i SDHC and I think you need to keep your games on the root of the card since thats what I had to do.

that quite annoying cause it means the card's going to get quite messy - 3 files per game (.nds, .sav & .cc) x at least 30 games + all the data folders, moonshell etc. = at least 100 files on the root of the card... oh well, i hope he doesn't mind scrolling....
