Hacking r4i 3ds deluxe- starter mode??

hi,

sorry for all the questions about the r4i 3ds deluxe cards- im a total newbie to them and am having a few teething problems.

I have managed to get the card set up ok but am just wondering if I have to start a rom up via the 'starter mode' every time?

currently its the only way the 3ds can see the rom but when I go thru the 'starter mode' route the screen often freezes on black and white stripes after I click 'Nintendo ds profile'.

it can take a few more attempts before it finally works.

any help would really be appreciated. im using firmware 3.0 by the way

1. You can download the 3.1 release and use the new launcher.dat.
2. You have to enter starter mode every time you turn off your 3DS.

I have just seen the 3.1 release now.

does the emunand feature work automatically on the 3.1 firmware? as id like to be able to access the eshop to try and redownload a preinstalled game that I deleted by mistake.
