Hacking R41 Gold - Some games not working

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, I have read the FAQ.

We've had an Edge card for years using it on a DSI. Just bought a 3DS and an R4i Gold Plus Deluxe card. Put the v2.8 kernel on the card and transferred all the ROMs I was using on the Edge card to the R4i Gold.

Mostly works fine, but the newer games don't work - for example 6116 - Lego LOTR, 6125 - Ben 10.

The other thing I don't understand is what the "Firmware upgrade writer" is?

firmware makes the card work on consoles and updates to them

kernel is game compatibility

look into putting RGF's Kernel on your card

Thanks, although I'm not still sure exactly what to do.

So even though I've dloaded the kernel from the official R4i site, you're recommending I use a different kernel? Is there a step by step for installing that RGF kernel?

So if firmware on the cart and kernel on the SD card?

Firmware is on the internal of the flashcard, but its updated through booting a nds file.

Kernel is the Menu and game compatibility
