Hacking R4 won't hold my microSD?

Just took it out to put some things on my microsd, was about to put it back into the R4 but now the R4 won't hold it, it just pops right out, is there anything i can do about this? i've had the R4 for about 1 week now only :/

I'm guessing the spring broke, but there are ways to fix it. I don't have the direct link to the topic, but I'm sure it's out their.

Looks like the R4 spring broke on you. I don't know many solutions but there are videos on youtube that may help you.

Well, for this one time I can forgive him. The videos show how to remove your spring. But you can probably still use it! So that would be a waste... That's why he SHOULD NOT LISTEN TO THE VIDEOS

I just opened the R4 to check out the inside of it, and there is for sure something with the spring, i pushed the mircosd in and the gently used a tiny screwdrive to push a bit on the spring and then it sat, so i've managed to push it in, but if i push it out i have to open it up again and do the same thing everytime.

I bought the R4 from an internet store in the country i live, do you think there is a chance of getting it replaced?

I was doing it in caps to catch threamakers' attention.

And if thats really what happened, you should be able to get a replacement.


Just say that when you go it in the mail, the box was all dented, and when you opened it, you found that the mem. stick wouldnt go in.

What size is your memory sitck, by the way? Mine is 1gb, which i think is defiantely enough.

 Will it work removing the spring?

No, because then you wouldnt be able to get the Memor stick out again.

I've tried to push the microsd gently inn like shown here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=uFGbDaBQUfA But that won't work, my memstick won't sit at all, only way i've gotten it to sit so far is by opening the case and pushing the memstick in and use a screwdrive to push the spring a bit till it sits.

If you remove the spring you can still push it in and pull it out with your fingers.

I pushed it in and out a few times now, and it seems like the spring has got stuck or something because i can now press the card inn, won't push it to far though, am afraid it will be stuck, but anyway i can stick it in and it will sit and i can pull it out now when i want.
