I guess the R4 team just wanted to show that the problem was easily fixable and to go "HAH" in the face of other carts that are still having issues with ToI.

Yes, it's a minor fix, but it's sort of major if you want play that game in its full glory.

While it may not be as feature-rich as some of the newer flashcarts on the market that came out after it, the R4 has definitely shown that it is still a solid product with consistent support through loader updates. Compatibility remains 100%.
Instead of complaining that the update was minor, be glad that the R4 team continues their dedication to the fine product they produced.

R4 Rules!!! Thanks for released it.

I'd rather have game fixes than a pretty boot menu and pokemon Wii connectivity IMO

Hmmm... The commercial Pokemon Diamond/Pearl carts can wirelessly connect to Pokemon Battle Revolution game on the Wii. While other carts support this function, the R4 at present does not. I'd call that broken. I'd call that a game fix. Just because you don't play it doesn't make fixing it any less important to those of us that want it fixed.

Look at it this way, PBR is just the first of what should be many titles that support DS-Wii connectivity. Fixing this problem on PBR may be the key to supporting all those yet-to-be-released titles too. You should be supporting these requests not bashing them. (Wii connectivity on the R4 appears to work on Geometry Wars, btw)

Why are some people dying for DS-Wii compatibility? It just goes to show what a bunch of cheapstakes the majority of R4DS users are. Amirite?

Huh? No, "yur not rite." Exactly how does this show that we're "cheapskates?" I'll happily put my commercial cart collection up against yours.

If you'd been paying attention you'd understand that the slot 1 flashcards have been the single greatest gameplay enabler/cheat device (take your pick) in the history of the Pokemon franchise. Oh, take a minute and go check the sales figures on the Pokemon games. They sell more of them in one day than most other titles do in their lifetime.

Playing the game on the "big screen" using the N64, Gamecube and now the Wii has been a significant part of the experience. Lacking this on the R4 using the DS is a big hole in that cart's capability. It needs to be fixed. Their competitors have done it.

Now, I'm not bashing the R4 team nor anyone crying about their poor cutscene bug in their piddley Japanese-only RPG that 90% of the members of this board can't even understand. But I don't complain about the R4 team taking time to fix it. I think every fix that doesn't break something else is a good thing that improves the value of the R4 device. And I'm not complaining that they haven't fixed the PBR problem, though I want it and will be happy when it comes.

What I want is for all the R4 owners here to stop questioning or bashing the wishes of others that don't align with their own.

I haven't had any problems with my R4DS playing any games it just works and I'm happy with it, most of the game fixes are for games I don't play but it's nice to know they are bothering. For people who are looking for something in particular I can understand how these updates would be a disappointment for you, but maybe another Slot 1 card device would be better for you to buy if it works with what you are looking for and it's taking a long time for the fix to come out if at all.

You have to understand that all these features do not come magicaly. It requires some hard coding to make something and even more to make it stable.

Well, it seems magical that it hasn't come.

I'm not whining or anything, but yes, as striderx said, this is a problem with a game we're talking about here, not technical features like GUI or SDHC. I'd consider it part of compatibility, and as long as this isn't fixed, R4 doesn't quite have perfect compatibility. Plus, the others already have it.

Oh well, I can wait. If it comes, I'll be happy, if not, I'll wait some more.

And if the problem is just PBR and not all Wii-DS games, then I don't care even if it does come, it won't affect me.

I'd love them to fix the wireless Wii connect for pokemon but the fact is when you bought an R4 it said nothing about supporting Wii connectivity.

The R4 is not broken. It plays 100% of DS games fine. That's what it's meant to do. Plus they've added extra features...not sure how you can call it broken.

My problem is not with people that politely request a feature. My problem is with people who demand and act like they're entitled to whatever they want. They are never happy and will always find something to complain about. You bought a cheap flashcart that does everything it's meant to do.

Sure...if you want them to add a feature e-mail them and ask nicely. I'm just sick of the people who sit on forums and whine no matter what.

If you're not happy with an R4 go buy another flashcart...it's simple

Please don't complain about features that were never promised.

(most of this post isn't directed at you strider, just the first bit)

I'm glad to see updates for the R4.

I'm even more glad, that all the games i like, work perfectly, and that DOWNLOAD PLAY WORKS. remember back when that didn't work? I'm still thankful for that, even though i don't even use it.

btw, out of curiosity, does people actually keep trying the new updates and the wii/ds compatibility with Pokemon? i would laugh if it was fixed by accident and nobody even tried because they never seen it announced officially:)

cause from a post earlier in this thread, it was stated that geometry wars probably works (the ds-wii).

Totally agree with you Cubin', people should more oft. heed your advice. It's surprising to see so many people complain about all the features other carts have that the R4 lacks, my question then to you is, Why did you buy an R4?
And if you're not happy with it, then why don't you buy that other flash cart?
You don't have enough money? Then stop whinging.

It's good to see the R4 team is well and active, when many people doubted their existence for the past few months.

I'm more than happy with how the R4 team is handling updates. Even if it's to fix a bug in one game ... and update is an update and it shows that they are still at work.

Now I couln't care less about DS/Wii connectivity, I have both and would probably try it out.

My take on this however is, if a DS game natively supports connectivity and on the R4 it doesn't then you cannot claim 100% game compatibility.

99.999999% compatibility. It rounds up.
