Hacking R4 Upgrade Gold Pro - I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

I just got a R4 Upgrade Gold Pro 2018 edition and I tried two different kernals suggested for my card but I can't get it to work on either my DS Lite or my New 3DS XL 11.0.6.39E, all I get is red text saying menu with a question mark. I also wonder if my Samsung 64gb micro SD card is not compatible with this card.

DS flashcarts can't read exfat so format it with guiformat

Yep, it turns out you are correct, I just bought a 8gb SD card from the nearby store and it works now. Of course I can format my 64gb card as you said but since I took that from my phone I will have to use the new card I bought.
