Personally, videos on the ds is a gimmick which lasts for 5 minutes. I do not find it enjoyable watching videos on the small screen. Listening to music is understandable but if i see someone listening to music on their ds, I will LOL at them.

I will always prefer a bunch of dedicated devices over one device which does everything at second-rate.

lol dude. I use my DSL for vids and music heaps.

nothing wrong with the screen; 256x192 res isn't bad and it fits all those 4:3 aspect vids nicely.

Music isn' great but hell, i dont feel like buying an mp3 player (my old one broke ages ago).

Not to mention since i have three flashcarts right now (soon to be 4), i may aswell use them to the max.

Because the DS has a tiny screen and crappy sound. You'd be better off grabbing a cheap MP3 player.

I used headphones and it sounded good.

EDIT: As OSW said im getting my second flash cart and a 4gb (maybe 8 if i can find one) SDHC card i might aswell use them for what i wanted.

EDIT 2: Nevermind

And to the other guy how is the DS screen too small for viewing videos by yourself, last time i checked the Ipods screen wasnt as big. As a matter of fact i dont think any music/video player has a bigger screen than the DS correct me if im wrong

Yes, the iPod Video has a 2.5inch screen compared to DS' 3 inch, however the iPod has a higher resolution. Even I can't stand watching videos on the iPod for more than 5 minutes.

The Creative Zen Vision W has a 4.3inch screen.

the cards still cost too much and i dont understand trying to watch a full length movie on my DS, not what its for.....

Some people either dislike Ipods or cant afford them. I dislike Ipods and when i do want to game i don't exactly feel like playing Solitaire either.

My thoughts exactly. I hate iPods with a passion and having one device with great media functions and kickass games makes the DS a helluva lot better than an iPod.
EDIT: And since when did SDHC cards cost too much? You can get a 4GB SDHC for $40 USD. That's the same cost of two 2GB cards.

BTW, when I was typing this, Firefox didn't spellcheck "helluva" lol

If you wanted, instead of getting an ipod you could get one of the other alternatives.

Example: Meizu M6 (that's the one I have)
Can do Xvid/Divx video 320x240 @ 20fps with MP3 audio. I can transcode video downloaded from the internet in under 10 minutes with this setup and there is virtually no video quality loss. It does skip periodically but I blame that on the unit playing catch up because I just dropped 4 or 10 frames (depending on original encoding) out of every second during the transcoding process.

I use headphones when listening to music on my DS so I already have myself an Mp3 player there. And as for the 'tiny' screen it's good enough for when your waiting for your doctors appointment in 4hrs time!

is it quicker and easier to convert videos to psp format?
because i'm thinking of buying one.

kinda off topic.

I suggest going to another clinic. XP
I do use my DS for music but it isn't much that I need SDHC right now.
