Hacking R4 SDHC Cheats?

I am playing Pokemon Platinum on an 2018 R4i RTS lite SDHC cartridge, and I see that there is a cheat menu for the game.
I have enabled these cheats but I don't know how to use them.
I went to edit these cheats but all of the cheat editors I have found crash upon loading the usrcheat.dat.
does anyone have any insight into this?

EDIT: The URL on my r4 cartridge is r4isdhc com if that makes any difference
