Hey,

My Flashcart: http://www.nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=507
I used the kingston 8GB on that page because i'm lazy.

For some reason, whenever I use my R4 for a long period of time, it just stops working. After inspecting, the MicroSD is empty. However Windows made a load of .chk files from the nothing. I ran these throgh a program and it isn't exxactly helpful:

Now, I don't have much data that I care about, but this has happened twice now and I really don't want it to happen again.

Anyone encountered this before?

could be a bad microsd card... do you have another you can test with?
alternatively, make sure the firmware on the R4 is up to date

the reason I say try another microSD is because it is possible its a fake, which could be why you're having so many issues. if you have another one in use somewhere (maybe a camera, a phone, etc) just back up the one in use, format it, and then try it out. If it works great then you know the problem is the card. you can always restore the backup and place it back into the device its from

No I don't have another MicroSD and I don't wish to buy one.
I have the latest firmware, downloaded it from the site a few days ago.

Ok you don't wish to buy a new one? Guess you wont be using your r4 because you have NO other option. Your microsd card is either fake or corrupted. In other words its a brick.

Go buy a 16gb card. They don't cost much these days. I've had the best experience with Lexar brand. Kingston is complete crap when used with flash cats.

Your MicroSD is already on it's last legs. I had a similar problem with my MicroSD deleting and recovering files when I removed and put it back in my 3DS. Also Kingston is a brand you should avoid when it comes to flashcards.

Sandisk and Lexar are the only brands I will ever use for DS and 3DS carts. They are basically your best options for the DS and 3DS roms.

I also recommend Intergral. They're very cheap (got a 32gb SD for £9) and when it comes to loading .cias, they do the job.
ok intergral i want free sd cards for free advertising k thx

This is the first I've heard of that brand.
