Looking good! But you did want thoughts...
wink.gif

Stuff I've found so far...

Release List window:
Panel 19 (Search Options), contents not all visible, can't be resized.

File Explorer Window:
Can't see an option for output folder like EZTrim, I like to have raw roms in an "Inbox" and then process to the library/final directory. (Option to rename, trim, copy to master location AND add to library would be cool).
Renaming doesn't work properly, no name in new filename despite being set in options, no option for dash after release number (so doesn't match existing files, releuctantn to touch them and saves all again), rel number goes on ok so identification is correct, string in options is "%RELNO%%GAMENAME% (%CC3%)" so gamename not being set somewhere.
Get "File not found when attempting to copy to a subfolder on SD card (card set to HDD, path set to ROMS\NEW)
CRC fails on every file

General point - would be handy if all the panels could be resized

Running on Vista Ultimate.

Sorry - couple more.

Library window:
No tool tips on the middle two icons.
Title details overlap into cart size box.

On a lot of screens, info at the RHS is clipped by window border.

Have fixed that now, I'll be uploading a new build later.

There isn't an output folder, it works directly on the files as it considers the folder you're in part of your game library.

Drop the files into the explorer panel. It'll pop up another window with a list of the files and the option to Rename and/or Trim. Once it's renamed and/or trimmed them it'll copy them to the folder displayed in the Explorer panel.

To get the dash select brackets around the release number.

QUOTEnumber (so doesn't match existing files, releuctantn to touch them and saves all again), rel number goes on ok so identification is correct, string in options is "%RELNO%%GAMENAME% (%CC3%)" so gamename not being set somewhere.

It's a bug. I never use the option so didn't notice it, I'll fix it for the build I upload later.

I'm not a good enough programmer to do that kind of thing.

I think you're doing pretty good, this really is/will be a terrific tool!
I'm just a picky bugger!!!

Thanks for the tips (and fixes), the drag and drop thing does the trick (but still no gamename and country).
Count seems a little off as well

I like rels no without brackets

Any chance of allowing editing of the file name like you have in paths?

This really is good stuff, thanks very much for your work on it.

Here you go, try this build out. http://tinyurl.com/55kpj7

I've fixed a few things, added a few things. The Internet drop down menus don't do anything yet. I've also made it so it puts a dash between the release number and the game name regardless of whether brackets are on or not. I haven't fixed the count in the drag and drop window yet.

Were the files you were trying to rename definitely in the release list?

Sorry TD, the 2.18 updater is still not finding the download file. When I try the url contained in the downloaded upgrade.ini file, it falls back to the default site page.

Z.

Ok, some results from Beta2

Looking at the details from a homebrew NDS file gives very strange results, both in the trimmed section and sometimes the game name fields.

Even with ROMs, the maths seems to have broken when calculating the saved space field.

ROMs 2074 and 2075 have their names transposed. I assume this is a database error.

I'll test more when I get a few moments.

Regards,
Z.

Hey TrolleyDave, sorry it's been a while.

I've been playing a bit more and I'm afraid I just can't get on with the renaming thing but I tell you what - as a library - this thing is fantastic!
I'm still trimming and renaming with EZ but for keeping track, this is the biz.

Cheers mate! With the renaming thing you mean DSFCC don't you? What's the problem you're having? I've tried to make it as much like EZ-Trim as possible but any tips on making it simpler are gratefully received!

I drag an expanded rom file to the explorer window, it identifies OK and trims but the resulting file is called "1234 - ().nds" - no game title, no region.

I drag a zip of the same rom to the explorer window, it unpacks the rom, trims it, and zips it back up with the correct name on the zip file "1234 - SomeGameTitle (EUR).zip" but the rom inside is still the original name.

Also no option not to repack. Ideally I'd like to drag zip or rom to the window and have it output trimmed roms properly named.

Using EZTrim for renames for the moment.

Would also be handy to make a backup of the idx file (maybe on load) as a couple of times it's become corrupt and I've had to redo the whole lot. At least then you would only lose one session of data.

TrolleyDave,

Release list hasn't been updated for over a week, no errors when updating, file timestamps change, my problem, yours or elsewhere?

Cheers.

the site your blog sends me to as no sign of a r4 commander on it????
