Hacking R4 card help

Hi, fellas.
My buddy gave me a 3dsxl for my son and I foolishly updated it. Not relizing he had an R4 card and now I cant access the card. Says turn it off and check manual. Now, I have no clue what I am doing. And I know there's information already here about this. I'm trying my best to weed through and figure it out my self, but I'm getting overwhelmed. Now it has ver. 11.9.0-42u
Can I get this thing to work again?

Yes you can. All you need is CFW.

OK so I've read up to there it has the pictures of the cards, I have the r4i gold , I think. It says r4i it'd gold lettering and shit.
Does that mean I need a new card or I'm good?

Does not matter, as you want to hack your 3ds via frogminer.

Is that one made by www.r4ids.cn ? It looks like it's supported for NTRboot. Check the chart list and picture.
