You're referring to vented masks which are designed to filter incoming air from any microbes or particulates, but allow a smooth exhale. They're mostly used in construction and are more comfortable due to the hot air leaving the mask through the one-way valve more easily by bypassing the filter entirely. An N95 with no vent/valve should be perfectly acceptable and filters air both ways - they're easy to distinguish.

It certainly looks like a self-sealing one-way valve, but I haven't used the mask myself.

i see a hole that fits the filter on the external part and i certainly don't see anything in the pictures that would properly seal that and if the product is claiming to be easier to breathe into than traditional masks then i'd argue its a reusable version of the non medical n95.

Even reusable masks need to be sanitized between uses so for covid-19 this would mean the filter would only last 1 use before needing to be replaced and the rest would need to be put into the washing making with a disinfectant and not regular laundry detergent or in the very least not used until after 3 days have passed.

i'm just confused because the reviewer seems to be implying this is a practical use for this product which it is not.

we're not just about gaming but also about technology in general.

on a side note in french the name of the product "R-PUR" reads as "air pur" (which means "pure air" i.e. fresh/clean air)
the pun doesn't really work in English though

It wouldn't even work for you.

A bunch of double-folded cloth is way more cost-effective than this.
@Foxi4 - Thanks a lot for that Juicero video. I literally LOL'd over it + comments.

In that case you'll like this one too:

400 doll-hairs a pop, and they were bleeding money with every single one sold. The insides are pornographic, this is the kind of design you see when you give your engineers a budget of "it doesn't matter how much it costs" and instructions along the lines of "do whatever you want, knock yourself out". This thing could survive a nuclear blast.

That's stupid! I am using my priceless mask and washable since March. I am fine and yesterday test for Coronavirus and I got negative. It is not necessarily. MONEY is the reason. Silly technology for mask. A priceless mask is fine! An old fashion is way better!

I imagine an overengineered mask like this would be suitable in certain environments, like heavily polluted cities in China, Japan or India. If you live in a place like that, or somewhere where smog is constant, accurately measuring air quality provides a real benefit to your health and overall quality of life. I can see how having that ability integrated into the mask would allow you to avoid areas where air is particularly harmful. In our current situation where the masks are a temporary pandemic measure it seems a tad wasteful, but hey - if you can afford it and it's effective, go nuts.

Am I the only one who notices the borderlands influence in the art style here?
