I have a new 640GB external HDD. The file system is NTFS. Uh, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with this. I already have the USB loader channel installed, it's just setting up the HDD that I have no idea about.

As long as you use the backup launcher and no USB launcher, your cIOS doesn't have to be updated. It can launch new games.silverbullet1080 said:I have a new 640GB external HDD. Format the HDD to FAT
Optionally make multiple partitions on it (all primary)
Then plug it in the wii and the usb loader will format it (or one partition) to WBFS
Then you can place games on it.
QUOTE(Nada @ Jun 26 2009, 10:53 AM) Hello
I'm on 3.2E, PAL, CIOS rev7 with HBC installed and gamma. Now surfing this forum it seems to me like I've totally missed the train on updates^^ I'm afraid to update my system menu (+ I really don't need any new features from 4.0, I just don'tswant to have a game update it and ruin everything) and not quite sure about updating the CIOS (I hear rev13 is out by now?). Must I first remove my old CIOS with anytitledeleter or should I just search for the rev13. Can Gamma still launch any new games or must I start using the USB Loader, since I haven't seen any progress on gamma in months:/?
Thanks to anybody who can help!

Games with new updates work. The updates will be blocked.Nada said:tj_cool said:As long as you use the backup launcher and no USB launcher, your cIOS doesn't have to be updated. It can launch new games.
Ok that's cool, thanks for the info. And what if they have firmware updated? Does it still catch & block them automatically, and will these games work then with my old firmware (any game released the last 2 months for instance)?

Thanks brah. Another question- can I plug the HDD into the Wii, put a disk into the Wii then transfer the game from the disk to HDD?tj_cool said:Format the HDD to FATsilverbullet1080 said:I have a new 640GB external HDD. Yes you can. All usb loaders can rip games (both originals and backups) from disc and place em on HDDsilverbullet1080 said:Thanks brah. Another question- can I plug the HDD into the Wii, put a disk into the Wii then transfer the game from the disk to HDD?

While doing this, they also remove the garbage and update so it takes less space.![]()

More info would be niceaflack said:When I try to load a game from USB, it starts to load it and then my Wii freezes up. I've tried using several different loaders. Any ideas? If I didn't give enough information, just let me know. I'm new to all this.
BARR3RA said:Where do I get 3D Cover Art and Disc Images? My USB Loader GX doesn't have any box or disc art for The Conduit, and no disc art for Wii Sports.
usb loader gx will download the cover art and disc images for you, as long as you have a wireless internet connection.
1)load usbloader gx
2)be sure it is unlocked
(click on "settings" in the lower left hand corner and check to see
if you have it unlocked, the actual unlock button location depends on
the version of the loader your using,
older versions have the unlock button right in the main settings menu,
newer versions put it under the parental controls sub menu
if not then enter your password to unlock it,
if you never changed the password then it is set to ab121b by default)
3)go back to the loaders main menu
4)place pointer over your current disc art or the question mark where it would be,
5)press "A" and you will get a few chioces, you probably want "3d covers" as well as "disc images"
6) your wii will connect to the net and download the covers and disc art all at once just be patient and click "yes" when you it asks you
I have never played a PAL game on consoles before, so I have a question regarding the video output.BARR3RA said:Is there a program that lets me convert an ISO to a cISO, and vice versa?
there is no need to convert wii iso's to cso's because the loader already compresses them as much as they can be, i assume you use a hacked psp, but the wii system of running backups, although similiar, is different.
so to clarify, there is no need to convert iso's to cso's because they are already compressed.

I uploaded Another Code R (PAL) to my HDD and ran it in USB Loader, but the screen is all gray and the top half of the screen is messed up (Is the latter a TV issue or is it a compatibility issue?). How can I make the video output work properly?

If the loader is unlocked, go to the games (you see the boxes but not the discs) and press 1. You can choose what covers you want. There is a big chance it won't work since the site it gets them from now asks donations. So if it doesn't work, download the covers manually at http://www.wiiboxart.com (size needs to be 176x248 and 160x160 for discs)
Is there a program that lets me convert an ISO to a cISO, and vice versa?
No, but the wbfs intelligent gui v6 can handle both iso and ciso

just one quick question:
how do i set up the usb loader to boot using ios 222? i assume its in the loaders settings but i wanted to ask first.
Be sure you have IOS222 installed. The go into the settings, GUI settings and change 'boot/standard' to IOS222
and while im here i was also wondering if cios rev 10 is still the best choice or if waninkoko has updated it yet?
Many people use cIOSr13(b) now, but theres also a lot of people using cIOSr10. Stay with r10 unless it has issues
EDIT: i guess im more of a noob then i thought, i cant believe that site asks for donations now, and i truly thought there was no need for a ciso, does the "c" stand for compressed or custom? and what is the benefit of a ciso over an iso? also is wbfs intellegent gui v6 better than wbfs manager 3.1?
cISO is compressed ISO. It takes less space on non WBFS partitions (the same amount of space as on WBFS). Both WBFS managers are equal, only intelligent can use cISO
