Hey, I just had a friend softmod my Wii, now I'm wondering where to get WAD files. Where are they? (JK)

Seriously though, he installed a backup loader (I'm not sure what it'd called, but visually it contains 4 boxes. One is the main menu, one is the homebrew channel, and the other two I'm not sure of. The background is gray). When I turn on the Wii, the loader boots fine but my Wiimote never connects to the Wii. When I take out my SD card, the Wii boots normally, and my Wiimote syncs to the Wii. Why is it that the Wiimote doesn't sync when the backup loader is active?

I recently updated my configurable usb loader to version 53 and now my gems won't work, I'm loading off FAT and I keep getting an errormessage that says I need cios 222/223 to load from FAT. I assume it's referring to the hermes cios's but I've already installed those...I'm running on waninkokos cios rev 14 if that helps...

I have a question regarding Ocarina. How exactly can I get Ocarina codes working in NeoGamma R8 beta 17 (or USBLoader GX for that matter)? I'm using CIOS 249rev17 currently and I just want to get max money in No More Heroes 1.

Also, would it be worth it to update to the newest version Waninkoko's CIOS?

Lastly, what must I do in order to play WiiWare/VC games? I've never seen a loader for it so presume it must installed or something. A link to a walkthrough would be great if possible.

Thanks!

Find a program called the BootMii Configuration Editor. You can set Bootmii to go away after a few seconds rather than having to press a button. You can also does this by editing the bootmii.ini while the SD card is connected to your computer.

K, so I softmodded my wii yesterday and it all worked out
biggrin.gif
(thx to people who helped me)
Anyways, now my disk channel says that it needs an update

I'm on 4.2u.

Is it because I might've deleted IOS30? So would it be safe to accept that update?

Install StartPatch or Priiloader and block the update

Can I use Wii Speak simultaneously with a USB loader (preferably GX)?

The information out there is kind of confusing regarding this. Whether or not I'm supposed to use Waninkoko's ciosX rev 19 or Hermes's (Hermes'?) cios 223 or whatever, or depending on whether I installed ciosX rev 19 on IOS 37 or 36 or 38 or blah

I already ordered my Wii Speak, and I'd like to know if I'm going to have to use the discs or not.
Just so everyone knows, I got my Wii Speak, and I tried it out using USB Loaders.

USB Loader GX refused to recognize it regardless of my settings (namely, which cios I used. I tried 222, 223, 249, and 250).

However, it worked perfectly with uLoader using cios 222.

Well, since I was ignored the first time around...

In short, I now have at least one external drive I can then use with the Wii for loading ISO's with. However, I would like to keep its filesystem at FAT32 (so I can still use it for other things), and I don't know where to begin.

I did install hermes' cIOS's already, if that helps any. And at least right now I have a couple of ISO's to test with, though they're already bigger than the 4GB limit FAT32 allows.

use wii backup manager to transfer games, it will automatically spit the files into 4GB parts so it will fit on your fat32 drive
Just downloaded 0.3.5 now... pretty slick

So if I understand it right, do I need to install a USBloader app? Would NeoGamma work fine for this (I think I have RC3 or RC4; it's been a while, mind you).

neogamma will work only if ur drive is formatted as wbfs

get configurable usb loader and/or usb loader gx, they're my favs

fyi, check out my signature for neogamma r8-final autoboot mod if u want it

Okay, got r921 wad of USB Loader GX installed. Used Wii Backup Manager to copy in wbfs the ISO's I had already onto the drive.

They show up as separate folders in Windows.

Load up USBLoader GX, and it can't see any of the games.

It does see the drive, but none of the games are listed.

hmmm, this may be a usbloader gx problem, i'm not sure, i stopped using gx a long time ago, try using configurable usb loader, if it works, then we've isolated the problem to gx, if it doesn't work, then something is up with your hard drive or how the games are saved to it

Tried cfg usb loader too. Neither of them work or show up.

hmmm, weird, u sure its recognizing the drive? Maybe try a different hard drive, could be a HDD compatibility issue

try installing a game to the hard drive while inside the loader, who knows, maybe it will show up properly in the list afterwards

Well, this is freaking encouraging.

Put in one of my legit games to install via USB Loader GX, and immediately after it asks me "continue to install?" it then throws up an install error!

And right after that, I exit out of USBLoaderGX, and the Wii stops saying "system files are corrupted."

Time to hit up bootmii to restore, then.
