Questions from a noob/newbie at switch homebrew

Hi, i've already modded the wii and the 3ds. But i saw that you could mod your switch, but i can't because i have a patched switch. My questions are, why it doesn't work with a patched switch? will there ever be a method for patched switch to be modded? what happens if you try to mod a patched switch?

Unpatched switch use the RCM method, which was patched in patched switch, if you want to have CFW on patched switch you need modchip.

I believe the cheapest HWFLY option is around 60 euros, but there is alternative option like picofly.

Picofly right now only run on emunand, you can't run CFW on sysnand.
