So, long story short, I decided to grab my ps3 after not even looking at it for the last two or so years. As it turns out though, the newer games need newer cfws (I'm currently on Rogero 4.46). Seeing as I've been away from the ps3 scene for a long time I wanted to know some things:
-First, what is currently the best cfw (without the use of a dongle or anything)?
-Second, is multiman still the way to go (preferably without having to make any changes to the games that are already on the hdd)?
-And third, updating the cfw is as simple as grabbing the cfw .pup and running that correct?
Thanks in advance.

- Based on my experience (and the general community's consensus), the best right now is Rebug.
- it never change, it's still multiman.
- correct. Just install it the usual way.

All right, thank you. One more question though, the latest rebug i could find (4.81.2 i think) also has cobra in the title. Do I need a cobra dongle for this?
edit the title of the version I could find was [release] 4.81.2 rebug rex / d-rex {cobra v7.50]

i personally never use a cfw with cobra, but iirc a cfw with cobra means that the cfw can use cobra enabled features like loading iso without needing ODE itself or a dongle like you said. So the choice is yours to use it or not.
The dongle is a thing of the past, it is never used anymore.

Thank you very much. I've just updated it (using the cobra REX version because I couldn't find any other versions), and everything works like it should (including DSII SotFS which wouldn't work before).

Nice, now you can enjoy being killed in DSII. :D

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
