Hello everyone!

I wonder what's the D-Cable. I know it's the prefered cable of the japanese and is HD capable. But it looks like a VGA cable. Is it realy a VGA cable? If so, can a jap D-cable work on a non-jap console? And can one plug it to a PC monitor?

Thanks for bringing light over this

There are 5 different levels of D cables, D1 through D5... D5 is relatively new and without much support yet though.
Each type supports a different level of HD - although they are all analog and not digital. They are not the same as VGA cables.

D1 supports up to 480i
D2 supports up to 480P
D3 supports up to 1080i
D4 supports up to 720P
D5 supports up to 1080P (But is still quite rare.)

D5 may never be supported widely as most people are switching to HDMI.

I really can`t imagine why a Japanese cable wouldn`t work on a non-Japanese system, as long as the connections are there. It`s not like a cable can be region locked.
You can plug it into your monitor if your monitor supports D cable.
