I found that on modschipdirect it's listed as $69.99. Is this a scam because everyone else is $85 and above. The only other US dealer I found was 3ds-flashcard but they are way too expensive at $97. I emailed for a discount but no word as of yet. Anyone can share their experience with these two shops?

First off, why are you buying a sky? Why not cfw? And both are fine. I ordered an r4 from modchips direct. And its not really too far behind in price, maybe they charge you shipping to get $85? But $70 is just about the same anyway.

All these retailers are extortionists anyway tho bro. It takes around $15 to make each cart, maybe less, and then they sell it at $60+ to make a huge profit. But for the ability to play *cough* "backups" *cough* they know people will pay it

Don't bother. No confirmed firmware updates for Sky3DS+ so you are buying a legacy cartridge that won't support newer games.

Unfortunately too, he's right. But you can get oot on it if you feel like oothax. But don't spend $60+ just for homebrew. Period.

I can vouch for modchipsdirect; I got my Gateway and Sky 3DS+ from there.

But like others here have said, make sure you want a Sky 3DS+ first. It's unknown whether or not it will continue to be supported.

I really don't know why people are so against Sky3DS. I have a Blue Button (aiming for the Orange now) and it was one of my best choices. Some people (like me) don't want to risky the console doing downgrade or are trapped at 11.2. We see everyday someone who has bricked their console or something like that.
About OP's question: some resellers sell the Sky3DS by this price if you buy 5 or more units, pay attention to that.

Were not really against sky, just if there is a free option, we would rather recommended that first. If cart is your only option, then by all means, go for it. And its more of a bias about the bricks actually, cause people don't make threads saying "yay! I successfully downgraded my 3ds!". People make threads when there is a question, problem, or a release. Therefore, the only ones you see are " sh!t I made a human error and bricked my console, any fix?"

Like 100 brick complaints vs the unseen 200000000 successful installs
