Hacking Question about wads

what would happen if I happened to use one and a new update happened? I never hacked my wii, but I'm tempted to...
Yes, I buy all my games, but one is unobtainable and I'd like to pay for it. Its just exclusive to some people so its impossible for me to get it the legit way.

I mean its buyable the code on ebay, but $30 is insane for a wiiware game with only 3 fights.
Also nothing major would happen or you don't know?
I'm scared to try it, but its tempting.

find a newer version of the wad and install it.

All an update is a reinstall of an updated complete wad over the previous version.

So chances are nothing would technically happen? Like they won't uninstall it or anything? Or even brick my wii or such?
I have club nintendo account, but I picked the mario hat because its a physical item. I would've boughten DLPO from the wii shop channel if it was there or with Club nintendo coins, but the mario hat seemed better.
