Hacking Question about SX OS USB Support

My sd card is full and instead of buying another expensive one I was thinking of buying SX OS for the usb hard drive support. Does it matter if it's USB 3.0 or 2.0? I have a hard drive but it needs an enclosure so I want to make sure and buy the right one on Ebay.
