Can you play GC-games on Wii without playing them from their original discs, if you have a 4.3?
You can use backup discs yes but see above for usb, its not possible via the traditional method

Play GameCube games from backup discs? On a softmodded 4.3?
How do you do then?
1. install the latest MIOS on your wii.
2. install neogamma
3. (if needed) create a compilation iso of up to 3 gamecube iso's with multiisocreator (or even more, if the games are reported to run fine when scrubbed)
4. burn the resulting iso to a DVD (this is prone to some errors...some drives accept any disc you throw at them, others are picky about the brand...and the D-32 drive accepts not a single backup DVD whatsoever)
5. insert the game in your wii and run it through neogamma.

Ok. Thank you!
I might have been misinformed.
I was told that black 4.3-consoles could not read backup-DVD:s at all. But maybe that was wrong then?

yes, black 4.3-consoles can not play backup-dvd! Because of the new D-32 dvd drive. the new dirve can not run all the backup disc.

It is correct, but as jordan mentions: it has to do with the drive. The firmware has nothing to do with it.

I also have to mention I made an error in my earlier post: you should install the latest cMIOS (the latest MIOS, as in the official one, obviously doesn't like backups).

If you are wanting this feature bad enough then you can buy a used older drive off ebay that will boot backups and just swap them over

The only problem is, the compatibility is the same as all other GC methods as far as I know, which unfortunately for me still means no Eternal Darkness

I really should pick that game up retail.

Err, that game works with Neogamma now.
Oh sweet, its been about 3 years since I tried and last time was just standard gamecube backup back when I had a hardmod, d2pro and I checked that compatibility list yesterday and it said the same, gets stuck at the edgar allen poe bit. But if its changed that is some of the best news I have heard about the scene. Now that I can play Eternal Darkness. I feel like my wii is complete SWEET

Use Neogamma r9. Look at he stickies at backup loading.
you need to install Wiipowers new Cmios.
It also fixed the Windwaker Dugeon map lag.
Gamecube loading is faster also now.
Also loading muti game iso's is faster. Very High compatibilty now.

As for the streaming isseu: It can also be fixed with the programs found on the Neogamma sticky.
