And you gain almost nothing in the process as well. It's trivial to downgrade to 11.2 via the downgrader or even FBI with cias directly. On 11.2 you don't risk overwrite, you have full online access with ctr-httpwn (which remains unbroken for future updates) and can do everything you can do on 11.4 right now. There's honestly no real compelling reason to be on anything higher than 11.2 B9S/A9LH with Gateway payload right now.

Should be safe as long as FIRM isn't updated.

Seems that it works at the moment.
One more thing.
To unlink the nands do I have to format the sysnand again? If so do I have to create the FBI H&S again (and everything else, too)?

You can actually just run FBI.3ds from the GW cart and install any CIA you want from there.
