Hardware Question about external hdds usb 3.0

This is not about hacking just regular use. I have a few extra hdds that I hook up to my PS4 but it says it needs usb 3.0. My question is can I buy a usb 3.0 cable for those hdds or do I need to buy a new hdd that supports usb 3.0?

It depends on the enclosure and the HDD that it is in use.
