i meant to say, if i take it out and then test if my console is banned , they cant do nothing to my harddrive right?(as in block the saving funtion)

Your HDD won't be corrupted if you take it off your 360 but if it has been banned using the HDD on the console will screw it up. It's the console itself that makes the HDD useless, something to do with the security.bin.

Ok well, gues ill just never connect mah xbox to live then, not that i realy use it , just to download some demos once in a while.
But seriously i need to know this, can i take my HDD to my friends house and just download some dlc and avatar clothes so that they will work when i put my HDD back in mah 360.

Pretty sure the answer there is no. DLC is tied to the box it's downloaded on thus need to be reaffirmed online before used on another xbox. Could be wrong though
